Billy F. Walden age 93 of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on June 25, 2021, in Durant. Billy was born on January 31, 1928, in Durant to Obie Wright and Susie Jane (Murphree) Walden Sr.
Billy graduated high school and received his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern. He married Joyce Toogood in December 1972 in Guam. Billy spent his career serving his Country in the United States Navy and retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in December of 1974 after 31 years. His commendations include Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (4th), American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Shriners and the Elks Lodge, and he enjoyed keeping up with his old friends on Facebook.
Billy was preceded in death by parents; son Billy Jr.; brother Obie Walden and sisters Opal Pearson, Mary McGuire and Kathryn Garcia.
Billy is survived by his loving with Joyce Walden and nieces Anna Sue Sapp, Michele Urbanski and Kathy McGuire and nephew Howard L. McGuire.
The family is honoring Billy’s wishes to be cremated and a celebration of Billy's life will be held at a later date.
