Noretta Moreen (Starkey) Walborn

Sept. 16, 1937 ~ March 15, 2010

CHEROKEE - The funeral for Noretta Moreen Walborn, 72, of Cherokee, will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Anthony, Kan. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony. Visit-ation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Anthony, Kan., to Gilbert and Wilma Snyder Starkey and died Monday, March 15, 2010.

She graduated from Anthony High School in 1955.

She married Richard Baird. They made their home in Anthony, where she worked at Weiberg Accounting and Nelson's Restaurant.

She married John Walborn Nov. 8, 1975, in Anthony.

They made their in Cherokee, where she worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau Insurance Co., retiring in 2001. They temporarily relocated to Wichita, Kan., during her illness.

Surviving are her husband, John, of Cherokee; four children, Pamala Hanna and Julie Walborn, both of Wichita, Joni Baird of Anthony and Randall Baird of Enid; two stepdaughters, Karen Davis of Killeen, Texas, and Sharon Kimball of Jewett, Texas; her mother, Wilma Starkey of Wichita; one sister, Maurita Schiff of Winfield, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003, to Enid SPCA or Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
