Frances Arlene (Hein) Wahl

Frances Arlene (Hein) Wahl
September 28, 1926 ~ January 06, 2018

Frances Arlene Hein Wahl was born September 28, 1926, to David and Marie Hein in Isabella, OK. Frances passed away on January 6, 2018, at the Fairview Fellowship Home.

She spent her childhood on the family farm, on the south edge of Fairview. She attended Fairview Grade School and was known as one of the swiftest runners in school. Her love for music began when she started taking piano lessons from her future sister-in-law, Iona Wahl Suderman. Frances graduated from Fairview High School in 1944.

Frances married her high school sweetheart, Lyndon Wahl, on July 13, 1947. They attended Tabor College for two years where she studied music and continued to develop her interest in vocal music.

She used her beautiful soprano voice while serving in the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church throughout the remainder of her life. She sang in the choir and the Ladies Chorus, played organ and piano, and sang solos as well as duets with Lyndon at countless weddings and funerals.

As a young married couple, Frances and Lyndon began their farming career south of Fairview on the Wahl Home Place. Their farming operation included a dairy and wheat production. Frances assisted Lyndon in the business by driving a wheat truck and tractor, as well as preparing many harvest meals.

She took great joy in raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved cooking their favorite foods and attending their school activities.

Frances is survived by her son Kelly Wahl and wife Gail, son Mac Wahl and wife Debbie, all of Fairview; and daughter Diane Mason, of Big Sky, MT; grandchildren, Ryan Wahl and wife Monica, Lisa Flynn and husband Micky, all of Fairview; Brian Wahl and wife Angela of Chapel Hill, NC; Kevin Wahl and wife Jackie of Boise, ID; great-grandchildren Rylee Wahl, Abbey Wahl, Molly, Ellary, Micah, Avery, Mason, Lily, Merrick and Holly Flynn, and Seth Wahl.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyndon, and brother Marvin Hein.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018, at Pierce Funeral Home, 721 S. Main, Fairview.

Funeral services is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Marlin Hiett officiating. Interment follows in the South Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home.
