Stanley Dwayne Wadley (Stan), age 77, was born July 15, 1946 in Madill, Oklahoma. He was born to Emma Jean Kirtley Wadley and Gene Wadley. He passed from this life July 19, 2023. Stan was preceded by in death by his son Tony and both his parents.

He is also survived by his sister Susan Griswold, brother Greg Wadley, brothers- in- law Dell Wood (Sandy), Val Wood (Susan), and nieces and nephews Kendra, Kelly, Christi, Brian, Kyle, David and Randy and their spouses.

Stan was a graduate of Madill High School. And soon after started his lifetime career of working in the trucking industry selling heavy duty parts and equipment. He loved working and could quote part numbers even after he retired. He mentored several young men as they entered the industry and always loved to guide them and teach them everything he knew about the business. He never drove a truck but always said “I love those big ole trucks”

Stan and Sharon met on a blind date in the fall of 1965. They married a few months later on February 12, 1966. They were married 57 years.

Stan was a lover of both people and dogs. He was known at church as a hugger, he loved to greet everyone with a hug. And he would never call a dog a dog, they were “babies”. He loved his grandchildren and thought they were the most talented and beautiful kids he had ever known.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Stan’s life on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Durant with Reverend Allen Carson officiating. In lieu of a family night there will be a time after the service to visit with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a no kill animal shelter, Operation Kindness, www.operationkindness.org/make-a-memorial-gift/ or the First United Methodist Church youth program @ PO Box 518, Durant, OK 74702.

YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL WHERE A BEAUTIFUL SOUL HAS BEEN BY THE TEARS AND THE SMILES LEFT BEHIND.
