Barbara Lynn Vincent of Waukomis, Oklahoma | 1949 - 2016 |

On a warm, breezy Sunday July 10, 2016, Barbara Lynn Vincent, 67 years old, resident of Waukomis, OK passed away.

Barbara, born, March 12, 1949, in Kansas, is the daughter of Earnest "Sie" and Emma Parkins. She was raised in Gage, OK, and lived most of her adult life in Gage, OK with her husband, as well as in Custer City, OK and Waukomis, OK.

Barbara graduated from Gage High School in 1967. Where she was active and excelled in basketball and track. She was named All-Star basketball player and track both. She was an avid dancer and took jazz, tap, and ballet.

Following high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Garry Russell Vincent, on November 19, 1967 in her parent's home in Gage, OK.

Garry and Barbara first made their home in Guymon, OK, where she worked at Sears. They then moved back to Gage where she then went to work for Beulah Shafer and O. Rex Shafer Public Accountants for several years. She later opened her own business, Barbara Vincent Accounting & Bookkeeping Services. When she and her husband went into the ministry, she worked for Roulette's Tax Service in Custer City, OK.

Barbara was active in not only her home, but in her community and church as well as, she became the first female member for Gage Rotary Club, member of Gage Chamber of Commerce, Gage United Methodist Church, Roadrunner Marathon Committee, and she was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority group of Shattuck and Gage.

Barbara was always busy, enjoyed crafts, creating, design, decorating. She enjoyed working in flower beds, shopping at antiques stores and flea markets, as well as walks in her neighborhood.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Garry R. Vincent; her parents, Earnest "Sie" and Emma Parkins; father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Imogene Vincent; brother-in-law, Bob Slavin.

She leaves her daughter, Crystal Lynn Godfrey; grandson, Cody Russell Godfrey; brother-in-law, Scott Vincent and wife Nancy; two sister-in-laws, Mavonteine Slavin and Darla Whitten and husband Dale; along with nephews, nieces, their children, and many close friends.
