Raymond James Vernon went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2015. He was born on May 29th, 1950 in Fort Bragg, NC to Max Brent Vernon and Martha Vernon.
He served in the Vietnam War and came back to Lawton, OK where he had his own construction business. He was very well known and loved by many people around Lawton.
He is survived by his wife Terri Vernon of Lawton, his daughter, Amy and husband Robert Dean of Lawton, his son, Brent Vernon of Lawton, his step-son, Christopher Pendley of Lawton, Five sisters; Shirley Cumming of Lawton, Donna and spouse Mike Kelly of South Carolina, Fay Tammerelli, Patsy Lancaster, and Marcella MacNaughten and spouse Rick of North Carolina, his brother Teddy Ventre and spouse Diane of Florida, his brother Robert Arbuckle and spouse Nancy, his brother Asa Hursey and spouse Anita of Lawton, his mother Martha Vernon of Florida, eight grandchildren; Kyle, Haley and Robert Dean, Melody and Logan Vernon of Lawton and Abby and Ava Pendly of Geronimo and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Max Vernon, two brothers; Gerald and Ronnie Vernon, his grandson Hayden Vernon, two nieces; Michelle and Tammy. He will be missed by many.
