Duane Lloyd Vandagriff of Oologah, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 61. Duane was born on March 26, 1963, in Wyandotte, MI to Vernon and Ruth (Fry) Vandagriff. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1969. After high school, Duane worked for the Oologah Fire Department before he joined the United States Navy where he served for 20 years. He returned to the area after retiring. Duane participated in honoring Veterans with the Patriot Guard. He could often be found helping others through fixing things, being a mechanic, and rescuing people when they were stuck or broken down. Duane was a caring person and liked by many. He will be greatly missed.
Duane is survived by his wife, Patricia Vandagriff of the home; his mother Ruth Vandagriff; 5 children, Brooke Stewart, Shucota Vandagriff, Rachel Manard, Emily Linihan, and Molly Huckleby; 2 sisters, Tricia Kahmar, and Victoria Baker; 7 grandchildren, Meriah, Avery, Brenden, Huck, Cutler, McCrae and Tristan; 1 great granddaughter, Dixie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Duane was preceded in death by his father Vernon Vandagriff, daughter Andrea Vandagriff, and brother Doug Vandagriff.
Visitation for Duane will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 9am-8pm, with the family receiving guests from 4pm-7pm, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
