Georgia W. (Shafer) Van Vliet

Feb. 22, 1915 ~ Sept. 14, 2005

Grove, OK. -- Graveside services for Georgia W. Van Vliet, 90, were Sept. 17, 2005 at Seneca Cemetery (Seneca, Mo.) with the Rev. Kenneth Cope officiating, directed by Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. She died Sept. 14, 2005, at Honey Creek Retirement Village.

She was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Spencer to Rholia and Laura Shafer. She was a homemaker. She moved from Hart, MO., to Grove in 1987. She was a former member of Burlington Christian Church, Burlington, OK., where she played the piano. She married Dee Van Vliet Oct. 10, 1933, in Norman, OK. He died July 14, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, four sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Bill of Eugene, OR., and Don of Grove, OK.; two daughters, Delora Van Vliet of Grove, OK. and Laura Houk of Joplin, MO.; a sister, Emma Miller of Bremerton, WA., and one granddaughter.
