Patrick Upton, 62, of Oklahoma City passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
He was born January 20, 1959 in Andernach, Germany the son of Leland and Wiltrud (Shertzer) Durbin.
Patrick was raised in Andernach, Germany. He graduated with the class of 1977 from Tecumseh High School, where he lived with his father Leland and mother Virginia (Tippin) Upton.
After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country for 6 years and was stationed in the Persian Gulf. He was honorably discharged.
He married Linda Ann Davis on February 14, 1997 at the Briar Rose Tea Room in Del City, Oklahoma.
Patrick worked as a Lead Inventory Management Specialist at Tinker Air force Base until his retirement in 2018.
He was a member of the Tecumseh Alumni Association. Patrick was an avid outdoorsman and was actively involved with his sons in scouting and all their outdoor activities. He enjoyed cooking, was a history buff, and loved playing military board and video games and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, they were the focal point of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leland Upton; and his beloved grandfather and grandmother, Heinz and Karin Peitz; and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Clara Upton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Linda (Davis) Upton of the home; his mother, Virginia (Tippin) Upton of Tecumseh, OK; his birth mother, Wiltrud (Shertzer) Durbin of Hermann, MO; 4 sons and 4 daughters-in-law, Lee and Angelica Upton of Moore, OK, Alex Ward and Kimmi Nevonen of Portland, OR, Steven and Dustie Upton of Ardmore, OK and Leslie and Kelsey Wood of Oklahoma City, OK; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Kimberly and Carey Hack, Melissa and Mike Weigel of Ardmore, and Amy Wood of Oklahoma City, OK; 3 Brothers, Steve and Lynn Upton of St. Robert, MO, Jeffrey and Daphne Sparks of Wetumka, OK and Tim Upton of Shawnee, OK; sister, Jennifer Embly of Wilmington, NC; 12 grandchildren, Anberlin, Ashton, Ava, Blaklee, Brayden, Britney, Brooklyn, Jaiden, Megan, RyAnn, Skylynn, Stevi; and numerous extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
