Larry Dean Unger, son of Garland and Thelma (Napier) Unger, was born on February 7, 1957 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and departed this life on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years.
A few years after his birth in 1957, he and his family moved to Westville. He was a student at Westville Public Schools and served in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Larry had many talents and worked various jobs during his life. He started working for Baldor in the mid 80’s and stayed until the mid 90’s. He then worked as a concrete finisher and other odd jobs until he suffered an injury in 2001, which ended his hard working days. He was blessed to have his mother to help care for him until her passing in 2004.
Before his accident, his hobbies were taking care of his horses and chickens and spending time outside sitting on the tree swing in the yard.
Larry was a great grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren. He would spend that time playing in the yard or taking them to town in “old blue” or “little red” for treats.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Garland and Thelma Unger.
A loving family survives him. They include his daughter: Renae Blossom and husband Kevin, sisters: Joyce Ketcher, Kathy Fargo and husband Rick, Shirley McGowen and husband Marshal, Patricia McKenzie and husband Marvin, granddaughters: Destiny, Brooklyn and Kiya Blossom, all of Westville, OK. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive him.
