Mary Katherine [Wilson] Underwood was born on January 19, 1943 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jay Dee Wilson and Katherine Pearl [Blair] Payne. Mary went home to her heavenly father on Sunday morning, May 23, 2021 from Tulsa, Oklahoma after her fight with cancer. She was met at heaven's gate by her loving husband, Leonard "Blue" Underwood.
Mary retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company after 30+ years of service in 2001. She enjoyed life to the fullest and had several hobbies. Her favorite pastime was sending greeting cards to family and friends for all occasions and spoiling her kids and grandkids.
Mary absolutely loved going on cruises, hunting with her husband Blue, helping him raise cattle and of course, her "fur babies!"
Mary leaves to lament her passing; her son, Roger Adair and wife, Joann, Edmond, Oklahoma; her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Smith, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jennifer Adair of Edmond, Oklahoma; Amanda K. Smith, Tennessee; Sarah Bupp and husband, Ryan, Kyle Adair and fiancé Ellie Waller, all of Edmond, Oklahoma; her great-grandchildren, Raley Bupp, Edmond, Oklahoma and Kallie and A.J. Weathers, of Missouri, her sisters, Joan Hueitt and husband, Doug, Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Kathy Brown, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brothers, Danny Wilson and wife, Karen, and David Wilson and wife, Kathie, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, other family and friends, and the ONGoers [ONG retiree group ].
Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Blue" Underwood, her parents, Jay Dee Wilson and Katherine Pearl Payne, her granddaughter, Alex Johnson, her grandparents, Riley and Mary Bell Blair, along with Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Ceremony for Mary Katherine Underwood will be shared on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Martin Luther King Community Center in Muskogee.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
