It all began in Haskell, Oklahoma on March 23, 1955, when a child was born to George and Sarah Sims, and given the name of Georgetta, after her father because she was so much like him.
Georgetta lived a full life. She was a good mother, daughter and wife. She always kept herself busy with her garden and flowers. Her favorite past-time included fishing and spending time with friends remembering the "good ole times." Georgetta possessed a "sassy" swagger and always told you the truth, whether you liked it or not. People loved her because she was dependable, honest and a hard worker. Even through the roughest of times, she held herself together. She was a fighter, a soldier and a survivor and would never take no for an answer.
In her 53rd year, Georgetta Underwood responded to the beckoning of the Lord, on Sunday afternoon, October 12, 2008 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence Underwood.
Remaining to lament her death; her daughter, Latrecia Underwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her siblings, Alex "Chief" A. L. Alexander, Thomas Author, Rossetta Liggins, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Francis Brown, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jennetta Mayfield, Haskell, Oklahoma, Elgin Tiggs, Willis, Texas; a special niece, Cheryl Roberson; her aunt, Adine Johnson, Olathe, Kansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Faith Deliverance Christian Center, 401 Independance, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Apostle Lathan Archie, Pastor, will Preside. Her remains will be cremated and her daughter will follow Georgetta's wishes by scattering them in a private place.
