Nash – The funeral for Charles E. Underwood, 70, will be 11 AM Monday at United Methodist Church, Anthony, Kansas, with the Revs. Stand Hughes and Gary Lillie officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony, under direction of Elliott Mortuary of Anthony.
He was born December 28, 1927, at Anthony to Kenneth C. and Edna Russell Underwood and died Thursday, February 5, 1998, at Wichita, Kansas.
He was a retired natural gas pipeline foreman and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He married Alice Louise Jackson on June 21, 1950, at Winfield, Kansas.
He was a member of the Bethel Hawley Baptist Church in Hawley and the United Methodist Church in Anthony.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, of the home; three sons, Terry Underwood of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Ernest Underwood of Hutchinson, Kansas, Howard Underwood of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Vicki Underwood, Nikki Pearson, both of Wichita; one brother, Walter Underwood of Great Bend, Kansas; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Hawley Baptist Church or the United Methodist Church in Anthony.
