Kathy Sue Tyree, 70, Oklahoma City, OK passed away on January, 1, 2020 suddenly of natural causes.
Kathy was born September 4, 1949 in Detroit Michigan. She was adopted at the age of 6 by Erwin & Verna Childers, of Oklahoma City.
Kathy attended Northwest Classen High School and graduated Class of 1968. She was very athletic and enjoyed all sports.
Kathy was married to Jim Swartzendruber for 16 years and had two daughters Shawna & Stephanie.
She had a love for Cats. Kathy enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at Eufaula Lake. Kathy re-married the love of her life Tim Tyree in December 1995, where she became a mom to four step children. They spent time traveling, and she enjoyed a great game of Black Jack. She loved going to the Horse Races too. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. Kathy loved watching her Sooners play! She enjoyed spending time with family, and adored her grandson’s Brycen & Connor.
Kathy was reunited with her brother Bob after 65 years this last April. Kathy would always put everyone first before her own needs. Her personality was one of a kind. She knew Our Lord and Savior and spent time with Him daily.
Kathy is preceded in Death by her dad Erwin Childers, mother Verna Childers, sister Ann Childers. She is survived by her husband Tim Tyree, daughter and son-in-law Shawna & Chris Mayfield, daughter Stephanie Swartzendruber, grandson’s Brycen & Connor Mayfield, brother Robert Burton, step-children, Jana & Fred Clason, Tara & Jason Motley, Tiffany & Ben Snodgrass, Tanner & Jennifer Tyree. 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandkids who loved her very much!
Kathy was a blessing to all who knew her, and will be missed very much.
