Ellen May Tweedy, 74, of Bartlesville, passed away peacefully at 9:4 A.M. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Brashears Funeral Home, 509 N. Gaskill Street in Huntsville, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Lower Campground Cemetery at Marble, Arkansas.
Visitation for Mrs. Tweedy in Huntsville will be at the Brashears Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 PM until 7 PM.
Ellen May Tweedy was born on November 20, 1946 in Rogers, Arkansas. She married Roscoe Tweedy on June 25, 1967. They lived in Springdale, Arkansas before moving to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1980. Ellen worked many places including Walmart and nursing while livi9ng in Arkansas. After moving to Oklahoma, she was a Walmart Jewelry Department Manager for new store setups and also the Gift Store Manager for Keepsake Candles in Bartlesville, OK.
Ellen was an avid reader. She loved clothes shopping, having her nails done, planting flowers and to travel. Her dream was to go to Hawaii and she and Ross were able to go on their 50th wedding anniversary. She also had a sweet tooth and was always on the lookout for a new place to buy and sample fudge. Ellen loved her family more than anything and is greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Irene and Virgil Carter, and brothers Ray and Virgil Glen Carter. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roscoe, her daughter and son-in-law, Pamala and Shane Ballard; granddaughter, Ashley Thompson and grandson Racee Consedine, and one great-grandson Mason Thompson. She is also survived by her three sisters, Edna and Alvin Reynolds, Betty and Gary Grambling, Shirley and Glenn (deceased) Sparks; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family suggests that any donations, please be made in her memory to The Journey Home, 900 N.E. Washington Blvd, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.
