Hazelton, Kansas – The funeral for Mildred V. Turner, 97, will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at the Community Baptist Church, Hazelton, with pastor Bradley Daniels and the Rev. Larry Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hazelton, under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Visitors may call at the funeral home 6 to 8 PM today.
She was born September 7, 1899, at Hazelton, Kansas, to James T. and Huldah V. Garlow Spicer and died Wednesday, November 13, 1996, at Kiowa District Hospital.
She was married to Carl J. Turner and was a homemaker. She spent most of her life in Hazelton but also lived in Kansas City, Kansas and Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Hazelton.
She is survived by one son, James Turner of Anaheim, California; six grandchildren and several great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and her husband.
