TWO DEATHS IN ONE HOME
Mrs. J.S. Tucker and Son Die Within Four Days of Each Other.
FORMERLY LIVED HERE
The Following Clippings From Ochiltree Eagle Are Accounts of Deaths
After a long, lingering illness of many months, Mrs. J. S. Tucker gave up the battle of life and passed over the great beyond last Friday morning, surrounded by the devoted husband and seven children whose loving attention has been untiring since she was stricken.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Hicks officiating. A large crowd was present to pay honor to the citizens whose many redeeming virtues and Christian traits of character had been humbly and meekly impresssed on the entire community.
True sympathy is extended the devoted husband and, those left to mourn with him the absence of a self sacrificing mother, whose constant aim in life was to provide a happy home for those she loved.
The following relatives from abroad were present at the last sad rites, Miss Lillie Tucker of Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee; Dr. and Mrs. Buck of El Dorado, Oklahoma, the latter being a sister of the deceased; Mrs. Kate Huff of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, a sister of Mrs. Tucker; Mrs. L. R. Summers, a daughter and Mrs. Louis Tucker, both of El Dorado.
It is not often that a country paper is called upon to chronicle the demise of two members of one family within four days of each other, but this is the sad duty of this paper this week.
On page 1 we refer to the death of Mrs. J. S. Tucker. On Monday afternoon, Mr. Dewitt Tucker, her son, age 19 years who was working in the harvest field, was kicked by a horse and brought to town at once, but his injuries were beyond medical control, and he died Tuesday morning about ten o'clock.
