Ila Juanita Steward, 101, of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully June 3, 2020, in Oklahoma City. She was born May 23, 1919 in Cordell, Oklahoma. She was the third child of Brent and Lilly Steward. She grew up on a farm west of Leedey, OK with three brothers Joe, Carl and Burt, and two sisters, twins, Ina and Nina.
She worked as a Rosie the Riveter for 3 to 4 years during WWII at the Douglas Aircraft plant, now known as Tinker AFB, and retired in 1975. Juanita and her husband, Ray Trent, were long time been members of Sunnylane United Methodist Church in Del City for 66 years.
Juanita had 6 children and raised 7. She has 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. Surviving are 6 children Colleen Hanneman and Eugene Johnson, Okla. City, Donna and John Veccia, Okla. City, Wayne and Rose Snider, Del City, Tommy and Helen Trent, Lakeview, Arkansas, Rhonda Trent and Jim Bina, Okla. City and Mike and Anette Trent, Okla. City.
She loved her family and family gatherings and was indeed a beloved Mother who will be missed by all. Memorial donations can be made to Sunny Lane United Methodist Church 2020 S. Sunny Lane Road Del City, OK. 73115 Juanita was a big animal lover especially dogs, donations in her name may be sent to a charity of your choice in her name.
