Rex Edward Treadway was born March 20, 1933 in Osceola, Nebraska to Velma and Earl Treadway. Rex passed away at home on August 29, 2008 at the age of 75 after an extended illness.
Rex graduated High School from Grand Island, Nebraska in 1951. He attended Columbia University in New York and earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
He also served four years in the Army.
Rex worked for Western Electric and retired from AT and T in 1995.
Rex married Virginia on May 31, 1980 in Mustang, Oklahoma. They made their home in Blanchard for 28 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He loved wood working, traveling and attending the OU Women's basketball games.
Rex was preceded in death by daughter Penny Treadway and son Joey Treadway, great granddaughter Isabella Stringer, brother Duane Treadway, and his mother and father Velma and Earl Treadway.
Survivors include his wife Virginia of the home, daughter Lauri and her husband Tom Manning of Norman OK, son Tim Treadway of Farley, IA, daughter Shelly and her husband Jerry McConnell of Chickasha, OK, son Michael Hair of Lexington, OK. Grandchildren; Michelle and Matt Stringer of Norman and great grandson's Jackson and Kingston Stringer, grandson Chris Webb of Norman, granddaughter Courtney and Jorge Cruz of Chickasha and great granddaughter Jaeley, grandson Joshua McConnell of Chickasha and grandchildren Jessica and James Hair of Middleburg, Oklahoma. Two sisters Genon Krivohlavek of Orangeburg, South Carolina and JeanAnn and husband Duane Johnston of Fremont Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Rex's life will be Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Reverend Mark Watson will officiate with arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard
