Gary Dean Travis

Gary Dean Travis
March 17, 1955 ~ October 12, 2025

Services to celebrate and remember the life of Gary Dean Travis will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, Colorado. Gary passed away at his home in Chelsea on Sunday, October 12, 2025. He was 70 years old.

Born in Burlington, Colorado on March 17, 1955, to Norman D. and Betty C. (Zogg) Travis. Gary was raised and educated in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School. He was the father of three daughters, Rachael, Tayler, and Jayden. Gary provided for his girls working as a carpenter.

A man that lived a very colorful life and lived it his way. Gary was known for being determined or as his daughters might say; “stubborn”. He always had a crazy story to tell you, and according to his family Gary was very reliable and always there if you needed him. He liked all kinds of music, but Dierks Bentley was a favorite artist and according to his daughter the song Burning Man definitely characterized her dad. Gary liked sports and the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies were 2 of his favorite teams. Referred to as a recreational fisherman, Gary made sure to take his daughters along where lasting lifelong memories were made. Gary loved his daughters and his family. When grandchildren came along Gary became known as “Poopa” and even moved to Chelsea to be closer to them.

A man that has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of his family and friends.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Rachael Simmons, Tayler Noland and husband Cole, Jayden Travis, grandchildren, Archer Blue and Amelia Deanne Noland, sister, Mary Lou Mangus.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cindy Kemp, brother, Larry Travis.
