Judith Carol Trammell, 81, of Mead, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Featherstone Assisted Living Center in Durant. Judy was born on January 25, 1942, in Sulphur, Oklahoma to the late Buel Earl Green and Helen Christine Love Green. She was raised in Sulphur where she graduated high school. Judy married Herbert Alvin Trammell in September of 1957 in Gainesville, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2013. In 1967 they moved to Madill where they owned and operated Trammell’s Department Store. They retired in 1988 and moved to Mead, Oklahoma where they lived the rest of there life. Judy was affiliated with the Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of The Red Hat Society, served as President of The Rose Club and was a Master Gardener. She also worked as a rancher and was a beloved elder of the Chickasaw Nation.
Judy is survived by Children: Joel Trammell and wife Tresa, Madill, Oklahoma; Kari Dawn Johnson and husband Randy, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Travis Trammell and wife Kelly, Madill, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Shannon Trammell and wife Krystal, Shani McGuire and husband Broc, Chisolm Cassai Trammell and Shiloh Butts and wife Sahara. Great Grandchildren Archer, Atticus and Traeger. Sisters: Marilyn Walls, Terrell, Texas; Pat Tribbey, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Karen Harding and husband Gary, Checotah, Oklahoma; Aunt: Jane Walters, Arkansas.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 brother, Joel Green.
