Randy Townsend of Mead passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2023 at the age of 57. He was born on September 21, 1965 in Denison, Texas to James Carroll and Ruth Ellen (Stephens) Townsend.
Randy was an iron worker and machinist and was a long-time member of the Iron Workers Union. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, reading Western books and watching Western shows. He loved spending time on Lake Texoma with his family and friends. He also enjoyed participating in local motorcycle club events, toy runs and charitable runs.
He is survived by his son Jake Townsend and wife Alli of Durant, his granddaughter Paisley Townsend of Durant, his partner Micha Holloway of Mead, his sisters Tammy Hutchings of Colbert, and Tiffney Keller of Allen, Texas, his brother Craig Townsend of Blue, lifelong friend and brother Charlie Maxey of Mead, Nieces Jondi Morgan of Denison, Texas, Whitney Castor of Durant, and Haleigh Weimer of Sherman, TX, Amber Boney of Hendrix, and JoDee Slatten, and nephew Craig Townsend Jr. of Netarts Oregon. Also surviving him are the brother of his son, Taylor Gray of Yuba and the mother of his son Carol Ann Gray, also of Yuba.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents Lloyd and Bertha Stephens and Dee and Nellie Townsend, his parents James and Ruth Townsend, his sister Carolyn Jean Townsend, brother-in-law Jim Cruse, nephews Michael Tyler Morgan, Michael Weimer and Brandon Inman as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins, too many to list.
A memorial service for Randy will be February 18, 2023 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Lost Street Brewing Co., 109 W. Lost St., Durant, Oklahoma.
