James “Craig” Townsend of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away July 27, 2023 at the age of 59. He was born on April 2, 1964 in Durant, Oklahoma to James and Ruth (Stephens) Townsend.
Craig was a hard working Five Star welder. He was a member of the United Steel Workers union, and union president of the local chapter at Caterpillar for five and a half years. He was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa fraternity. Craig enjoyed outdoor activities. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping.
Craig is survived by his children, son Little Craig Townsend and wife Tina of Raytown, Missouri, daughter Haleigh Weimer of Sherman, Texas, son Jerrell Farrell of Bennington, Oklahoma, and daughter Kathleen Donaghey of Caddo, Oklahoma, his sisters Tammy Hutchings and husband Donnie, and Tiffney Townsend. His legacy lives on with his grandchildren, Tyler Kinney, Jr., Tatum Kinney, Liam Powers, Domino Townsend, Dublin Townsend, Ashley Delozier, Pamela Fireshaker, Mickey Weimer, and Amelia Inman.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 with Brother David Sanders officiating.
