Mary Lavon Totten, resident of Hominy, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her home. She was 79 years of age. Mary was born August 24, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Helen Louise (Gore) Wallace. She was raised mostly in Pawhuska, Hominy and Tulsa, where she graduated from Will Rogers HS. Mary attended Tulsa Junior College where she received her associates degree in Accounting. She worked for a CPA firm for many years. Mary has made her home in Hominy for the past twenty years. Mary loved reading, watching birds, and sewing, but being with her grandchildren was always a priority with her.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her children – Ronnie Totten and wife Philamena of Patterson, LA, Dale Totten of Cleveland, OK, Joe Totten of Wynona, OK, Christy Hollowell and husband Terry of Terlton, OK and Cindy Totten of Kingston, OK. Also surviving is a sister Dixie Jones of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Lay officiating. There will be a time of viewing for family and friends from 10 am till service time on Friday. At Mary’s request, cremation will take place.
