Dorene Emily (Kaspar) Tonsfeldt
November 13, 1935 ~ July 24, 2018

The funeral service for Dorene Emily Tonsfeldt will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 30, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Andrew Long officiating. A visitation with family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.

Dorene was born November 13, 1935 in Clay Center, KS to Emil and Alma (Algren) Kaspar and passed away July 24, 2018 in St. Louis, MO.

She was raised with her sister in Clifton, KS and on April 15, 1956 she married Virgil Tonsfeldt, raising their family in Fremount, NE. In 1977, the couple moved to Enid, making it their home.

Dorene worked at the First Presbyterian Church for 24 years as an Administrative assistant for the pastors at the church. She adored her work and had "Presbyterian" running through her veins. She was a doer and joiner, belonging to a sorority, PEO, Presbyterian Women, Eastern Star, and two bridge clubs. She was a Den Mother, Homeroom Mother, PTA President and chaperone to everything. The best mother and grandmother ever!

She delivered mobile meals to those in need, visiting those that did not have family in the area or could not get out themselves. She loved to travel, see and experience new things and went on mission trips to Peru, Czech Republic, Kenya and New Orleans.

Always putting her family first, Dorene was an amazing wife, homemaker, Mom, Gramma, Granny and Grammy! There is no doubt where she is now, in Heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ, whole, healthy and still loving on all of us!

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Dorene is survived by her sister, Donnis Pierce of Concordia KS; children, Lana Davis and husband, Gary of Lenexa, KS; Jay Tonsfeldt and wife, Ranette of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Tom Davis; Angie (Davis) Fulk; Matt Davis; Emily Tonsfeldt; Kara (Tonsfeldt) Gilbreath and Allie Tonsfeldt; five great-grandchildren, Marin, Astoria, Ryder, Hensley and Leo. She felt so blessed by each one of them!

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Saturday Manna on Main Street with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
