William C. Tomlinson

???? ~ 1937

William C. Tomlinson of Elk City was buried Tuesday afternoon at Pampa, Texas, following funeral services in Elk City at the Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. John H. Bannister.

Mr. Tomlinson came to Roger Mills County in 1900 and homesteaded near Durham and resided there until 1918 when he moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, in order that his children might have college advantages.

For the past few years he has resided in Elk City.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Edward Patterson of Elk City and Mrs. Wylie Quattlebaum of Sayre.

Mrs. Tomlinson is a sister of J. W. Thomas and Mrs. Edna Watson, both of Durham.

A great number of friends from the Durham community and Cheyenne attended the funeral in Elk City.

Mr. Tomlinson was one of the early day influental citizens of the Durham community, being a zealous worker for better schools and always seeing that a Sunday School was conducted in the community.
