Shirley "Nanny" Tindol was born October 26, 1935 in Big Spring, Texas to Zelma and William Jordan Johnston. She passed away October 16, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Shirley grew up in Big Spring, Texas where she attended schools. After graduation she moved to several different places following her husband in the oil field until they settled in Canadian, Texas in 1968. Shirley moved to the Briscoe, Texas and Wheeler, Texas areas where she was a secretary at Briscoe Schools and also babysat and cooked for the Wheeler Nursing Center. As Shirley's health began to fail she moved to Elk City. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Ralph Johnston, Dillard Johnston, granddaughter, Stacy Patterson, and son-in-law, Dennis Jones.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ford and husband, Dell, Canyon, TX, Deradah Christine Tindol, Shallowater, TX, Tracy Lane and husband, Frank, Hammon, TX, Juanda Patterson, Liberty, MO, Panna Jones, Austin, TX and Cole Tindol and wife, Pam, Stinnett, TX; 22 grandchildren, Megan Ford, P.J. Ford, Deradah Weldon, J.D. Tindol, Charlie Flowers, Marshall Flowers, Kelly Lane, Kendra Lane, Christopher Newsom, Thomas Newsom, Jordan Newsom, Kara Lane, William Patterson, Martha Patterson, Tosha Davis, Kim Fielder, Ky Jones, Kalli Jones, Kristian Hudnall, TJ Trimble, Kyleigh Trimble and Jamie Trimble; many great and great great grandchildren; brother, Rodney Johnston, Big Spring, TX; 2 sister-in-laws, Julia Johnston, Big Spring, TX and Betty Sue Johnston, Big Spring, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
