Tidwell, Gloria Thorsell, 85, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born April 29, 1926 in Gilmer, Texas to W. Morris and Faye (Marshall) Thorsell. Gloria graduated from Pittsburg High School, Pittsburg, TX and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Baylor University in 1947. She was united in marriage on August 21, 1947 in Pittsburg, TX to Ed Tidwell.
Gloria was a member of the Christian Women's Club of Norman, Oklahoma and was involved in teaching foreign students English through the First Baptist Church of Norman. Gloria enjoyed contemporary and Christian music. Gloria attended the Trinity Baptist Church of Norman, Oklahoma.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Ed Tidwell of the home; brother, Dr. William M. Thorsell, Jr. and his wife, Martha of Houston, TX; one niece, Laura Thorsell Beavers and her husband, Chris; two grand nephews, Christopher and Preston; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Tidwell and his wife, Libby and their son, Wesley and their daughter, Laurel and Clarence Tidwell and his son, Derek Tidwell and his daughter, Alicia Tidwell. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St. of Norman. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Pittsburg, TX.
