Shirley Jean Thornbrugh entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 6:55 in the morning while residing at Cimmaron Point Care Center in Mannford, OK
Shirley Jean was born on September 21, 1944, in Hominy, Oklahoma to Samuel and Myrtle Marie (Bales) Couffer. She was the third born in a sibling group of five. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Hominy, Ok. She attended Hominy school.
Shirley was married and has a daughter, Becky Ann Christian. Whom she loved very much. Later in life Shirley was married to Carl Thornbrugh.
Shirley always thought of others. She was always looking for things where she could bless her nieces and nephews. She would buy them things to make sure their needs and wants were taken care of. She never had a driver’s license, so she walked everywhere she went. She loved going to garage sales to find special items to give to others who needed those items. Shirley was amazing in the way she cared for children. She enjoyed being with the children.
Shirley was survived by her sisters; Delores Rogers, Judy Couffer, one brother; Chris King, daughter; Becky Ann Christian, nieces; Tina Marie May, Carrie Ann Vreeland, Britni Darlene Tisdale, nephews; James Robert Brooks, Robert Benjamin Brooks, Jacob Kane Brooks, Austin William Tisdale, best friend; Omie Sparks, also many great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Carl Thornbrugh, parents; Samuel and Myrtle Couffer, brother; Tim King, nephew; Bobby Brooks
