Bill Thompson, 69 year old Woodward resident, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in Oklahoma City. A Celebrations of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Woodward Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the Billings Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family being present on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
William Lee Thompson was born on August 19, 1951 to Olen Hestor and Myrtle Juanita (Miner) Thompson. He attended Buffalo schools and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1969. Bill was united in marriage to Pam Franco on February 14, 1994 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Woodward and have lived here since that time.
Bill worked as a contract welder for many years. Bill's brother Charlie taught him how to weld and helped start his career as a Welder. He later worked with Ray Yauk for Koch Pipeline before going to work for L&L Backhoe. He worked for L&L as a Supervisor for 29 years until his retirement in 2016. After his retirement he was able to spend more time with his family. Bill enjoyed camping and being with family, especially the grandchildren. He loved riding his Trike and going on Poker Runs and in general getting his "Wind Therapy." Bill loved a good game of darts. Not only was he a member of the Northwest Dart League, but served on the Board of Officers for many years.
He joined the Woodward Moose Lodge in 1994 and was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He received his Fellowship Degree in Chicago, Illinois in 2006.
He is survived by his wife Pam Thompson of the home in Woodward; sons: Chris Thompson and wife Christina, Chad Thompson and wife Julie, Nick Twyman; daughters: Trish Denney and husband Ky, Nicole Twyman; grandchildren: Devin, Zack, Gage, Liam, and Kynzleigh Thompson, Kelsey Statler, Karissa Thompson, Katelynn Willey, Coral Tice, Sean Thompson, Avery Knone, Austin Knone, Seth Baird, Kameron, Kamille, and Colton Lair; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Mark Thompson and wife Merilyn; other relatives and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Myrtle Thompson, brothers, Charlie Clark, RJ "Butch" Clark, and sister Ramona Snow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Kidney Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
