Wanda Kay (Hightower) Thompson was born May 4, 1946, in Bristow to Andy and Zelta (White) Hightower. She passed away May 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 79.
Wanda married Roy Allen Thompson, Sr. in June1966 and they raised three sons together. Wanda enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, sometimes hosting 75 or more family members. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Zelta Hightower; first husband, Everett Dale Melson, Sr.; sons, Everett Dale Melson, Jr., and Roy Allen Thopson, Jr. Survivors include her husband of nearly 59 years, Roy Allen Thompson, Sr. of the home; son, Nick Thompson and wife Becky; brother, Rick Hightower and wife Debra; grandchildren, Heather and William Melson, Mindy and Brandon Stancell, Brandon and Lindsey Mudgett, Joshua Thompson, William Thompson; great-grandchildren, Aydan Stancell, Kiha Stancell, Lila Stancell, Blain Mudgett, Rhett Mudgett, Kash Mudgett; along with other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Davenport. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
