Richard Paul Thompson

Richard Paul Thompson
January 25th, 1952 ~ April 21, 2018

Richard Paul Thompson, 66 years old, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Richard was born January 25th, 1952 in Oklahoma City to John and Marion (Cejda) Thompson. The family moved to Bartlesville when Richard was a teenager, where he attended College High School. Richard served in the US Air Force from 1970-72, then attended OSU Oklahoma City graduating with a degree in electronics engineering. Richard worked for Phillips Petroleum, then Applied Automation in various capacities relating to the design of gas chromatographs and related systems. He later worked for ABB before retiring. Richard enjoyed volunteering at Paths To Independence by repairing bicycles and doing odd jobs.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth Bridendolph Thompson, and two sons: John Edward Thompson (Kim) of Bartlesville, and Nathan Daniel Thompson (Lyndsey) of Broken Arrow. He has two grandchildren that he adored, Spencer J. Thompson and Sofia Christina Thompson. He is also survived by brothers Harold Thompson of Tulsa, David Thompson of Oklahoma City and sisters Lynn Thompson and Beth Foster of Bartlesville and Judy Andrews of Tulsa. Brothers-in-law Neil Bridendolph, Bill Bridendolph (Cheryl) all of Bartlesville, Bob Bridendolph (Jamie) of Austin, TX, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Donations to Paths To Independence, 4041 Sheridan Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74006 in Richard's name will be gratefully accepted.

A come-and-go celebration of Richard's life will be held at the family home on Saturday, April 28th starting at 2:00 p.m.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
