Robert Dale Thompson, age 59, of Copan, Oklahoma passed away Friday January 19, 2018.
He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on May 23, 1958 to Lee and Eppie Thompson. He was raised in Copan, Oklahoma, graduating in 1976 and marrying Vicki Lee Shippy in 1976, who preceded him in death. She blessed him with 2 children: Amber Lynn, born April 4, 1978 and Jerrid Dale, born on February 4, 1980. He married Lesa Ann Jackson in 1984 and blessed him with another son, Robert Ray on May 4, 1986.
He has worked as a machinist or supervising machine shops since he was in high school. While learning the trade at Tri-County Tech, he did an apprenticeship in Dewey Oklahoma. Then worked for Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville Ks. From there he was employed by Standard Pump in Bartlesville, Ok for several years. He then worked in Oklahoma City for Trico as a supervisor for a short time before returning to Bartlesville Ok and working for Superior. He then started work at Spears as a Machinist and was a Plant Supervisor upon his death after 17 years with the company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, and his half-sisters Edna Beck and Viola Dallas.
Survivors include his daughter Amber and husband Brad Thornton, son Jerrid and wife Lauren, and son Bob of the home, and 12 grandchildren: Tori and her husband Nic, Tyler, Trenton, Sami, Brooke, Dylan, Talynn, Adisyn, Zac, Traxton, Lydia, Piper and 2 great grandchildren: Andyn and Asher, and 3 Brothers Albert, Larry and Neil and sister Leah Thompson and half-siblings George Dallas and Zelda McGibboney.
Services are scheduled for 3:00pm Friday January 26, 2018 at Tyro Christian Church.
