Edith Laverne "Bun" Thompson

Services: Tues., May 3, 2:00 p.m.

Graveside funeral services will be held today Tuesday, May 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park (River Boulevard) for Edith Laverne Bun Thompson, 77, who died in a Bakersfield hospital after an extended illness. Rev. Eddie Summers will officiate.

Edith was a native of Altus, Oklahoma, and has lived here for the past 69 years. She was a secretary and was last affiliated with Sun Valley Oil Company.

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, George L. Thompson; her children, Bud Thompson and his wife, Patricia of Meeker, CO. and Sharon Steiber of Bakersfield; her brother, R.C. McAtee of Lake Isabella; her sister, Joyce Prior of Bakresfield; her grandchildren, Michael Steiber of Bakersfield and Heather Thompson of Denver, CO; a sister-in-law, Gayle Mills of Bakersfield; her best friend, Mary Hensley of Bakersfield.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the CCU/2 Staff and the Respiratory Therapist at Memorial Hospital.
