Wilmoth L. Bill Thomas of Oklahoma City passed away on October 26, 2011, at the age of 100 (three months short of 101).
She was born in Mangum, Oklahoma, January 24, 1911 to Mack and Mary Alice Long. At the age of 5 her family moved to Moriarty, NM by wagon train, and resided there until 1999, moving to Oklahoma City. She had a high school education, graduating from Estancia High School in Estancia, NM. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty, NM.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on May 4, 1999, and her son, George Jr. on January 5, 1990, 4 sisters, Effie Hughes, Minnie Timmons, Nell Estes and Bodie Gloss, and 2 brothers, Jack and Joe Long.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth and husband Andrew Martinez of Oklahoma City; 3 granddaughters, Donna Thomas of El Paso, Deb H unt of Oklahoma City, and Deana Ortega and husband Gary of Fort Worth; one great granddaughter, Lynette Knight and husband Colen of SC; 3 great grandsons, Anthony Hunt of Oklahoma City, Christopher Ortega and wife Lucinda, and Brian Ortega of Fort Worth; 2 great-grandsons, Christian and Noam Knight of SC; 2 step-grandsons, Randy Martinez of Georgia, and Andy Joe Martinez and wife Amanda of Oklahoma City; 1 step-granddaughter, Andrea Martinez of FL; 2 step-great grandchildren, Vega and Indigo Martinez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on October 30, 2011, from 11 AM to 6 PM, and a memorial service will be on October 31, 2011 at 2 PM at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.
Final resting place will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
