Violet Maxine Thomas, age 75 of Lexington, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013. Violet was born May 5, 1938 in Charlottesville, Virginia, 1 of 4 children born to Edward Jerry Scott and Mary Frances (Truslow) Scott. She was raised in Virginia and attended school there.
She married her true love; a young man named Raymond Franklin Thomas on June 25, 1973 in Pontiac, MI. Together they raised two children, son, Jimmy and daughter, Brenda. They moved to Purcell in May of 1982 and eventually settled in Lexington. Violet worked hard as a stay at home wife and mother. She cherished her family and never missed an opportunity to visit someone or call them on the phone. She especially enjoyed impromptu phone calls with Brenda. Violet love the Lord and she greatly enjoyed singing gospel music. And she loved traveling when she could. Violet was a kind hearted person with a heart for the people. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Edward and Mary Scott and Two sisters, Marie Pannell and Geri York.
She leaves behind: Her daughter, Brenda Deal and husband Rodney; Her son, Jimmy Loving and wife Donna; Her sister, Shirley Ward; 9 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and A host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 PM Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home.
