Dr. E. F. Thomas, 88, of Lubbock, Texas has passed away.
Services were in the J. A. Hodges Chapel of First Christian Church with Dr. Dudley Strain, pastor emeritus and the Rev. James Sutherlin, pastor officiating.
Entombment was in the Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum in Wichita Falls, Texas with the Rev. John Muir, pastor of First Christian Church in Wichita Falls, officiating. Arrangements were by Rix Funeral Home.
Dr. Thomas moved to Lubbock in 1977 from Wichita Falls, where he had lived since 1937. He moved from Virginia to Oklahoma in 1899.
He was a member and an elder of the First Christian Church, the Lions Club and Professions Association, and he delivered Meals on Wheels.
He married Blanche Bentley in 1927 in Oklahoma City. She died July 11, 1977.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Peggy Mayes of Lubbock; his son, Bert Thomas of Amarillo, Texas; and eight grandchildren. Other relatives include Pauline Cordell, Bruce Thomas and Vint Thomas of Balko, Oklahoma; Katura Powers of Midwest City and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
