Ernest Anthony Thomas 74, of Albany, Oklahoma passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at his home. He was born February 9, 1943 in Grayson County, Texas to James Loyd and Addielee Miller Thomas.
He attended Pottsboro and Denison, Texas schools. He was a Navy Veteran from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam era.
He married Patti Clement on September 12, 1969 in Pottsboro, Texas and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a boat mechanic for many years at the marinas including Highport and Grandpappy.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and his Brother-in-Law Jim Byler.
Surviving is his Wife Patti Thomas of the home Albany, OK. Daughter Tricha Hayes and husband Billy of Pottsboro, Tx. Son Anthony Thomas and wife Brenda of Albany, OK. Special Granddaughter Taylin Blount Hayes of Pottsboro, TX. Brothers J.D. Thomas and wife Barbara and Terry Thomas and wife Lynn and Sister Mary Lee Byler all of Pottsboro, TX. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and other family members also survive.
A Graveside Service for Ernest Anthony Thomas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon February 21, 2017 at Locust Cemetery in the Grayson County with Greg Knight officiating. Military honors will also be conducted at the cemetery. A family night will be held from 6-7 Monday evening at Cunningham Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to a favorite charity. Family and friends are invited to join the family at Patsy's Cafe on 289 outside of Pottsboro following the Graveside Service.
