Cora B. (Sires) Thomas
June 1, 1926 ~ August 5, 2012 (age 86)

Cora B. Sires Thomas, 86, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born June 1, 1926 in Merrick, Lincoln County, Oklahoma to John Henry and Hattie Pearl (Boyer) Sires.  She was united in marriage on June 8, 1947 to Dewey Thomas.  They were introduced by mutual friends Bill and Carol Rixey.  

Cora worked at Tinker Field during World War II as a mail Carrier.  She was later a payroll clerk and worked in President Cross' office at Oklahoma University while her husband went to school.  Cora also worked in Continuing Education and was a secretary for the Aviation department. Cora enjoyed Bible studies for many years and was an avid reader.  She daily prayed for each child and grandchild.  

She lived most of her life in Norman/Oklahoma City area and nine years in Ontario, California.  Cora died after a brief illness at Norman Regional Hospital.

Cora is survived by her three sons, (James) Chuck Thomas and wife Susan, Brian Thomas and wife Michelle, and Ned Thomas and wife Jena;  Twelve Grandchildren, Jeremiah, Julia, Micah, Lydia, Brandon, Kristin, Kim, Elizabeth, Moriah, Seth, Traci and Julie; two Great-grandchildren Hunter and James.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday,  August 11, 2012 at Wildwood Community Church.

Arrangements for Cora and her family have been placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
