Anita “June” Sires Thomas (June Bug and Pup)

June passed away February 24, 2022, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 80. She was born to Alvin C. “Chick” Sires and Ada Brown Sires in Ochelata, Oklahoma on 1/5/1942. June married Harry Vernon Thomas on April 11, 1957, and they had four children.

June had multiple jobs throughout her life. She worked hard raising her children and many nieces and nephews. She was surgical tech, phlebotomist, and a certified nurse aide. She helped Harry build houses for many years. In the mid 90’s she opened and enjoyed running Cinder’s Cafe in Ochelata, but she mostly enjoyed the people she served at the Cafe.

June was a jokester. She was known for funny pranks she would pull on family and friends. She made the best homemade cards, had the best hiding places for hide and seek, and made sure you were clean and well fed. If you needed a solution to a problem, she knew how to solve it. She knew how to enjoy life and was always laughing.

June is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, four brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include sisters Sherry Lozano of Bartlesville, Colleen Peck of Bartlesville, Phyllis Sanders of Ochelata, Children David Thomas and wife Dorothy of Ramona, Danny Thomas of Ochelata, Debra House and husband James of Dewey, Dee Ward and husband Paul of Ramona, Tina and Gina Behm and Jim Virden and Nine grandchildren, Chris, Coy, Linda, Cassie, Andre, John, Mandy, Valarie, and Sara, 20 great grandchildren, and many others she helped raise in the community.

A private memorial will be held at a later date per June’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma
