Cecilia Agnes Thimm passed from this life on September 1, 2024, at the age of 77, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Cecilia was born on January 27, 1947, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the daughter of Anthony Gabriel and Elenor Elizabeth (Christman) Arlt. Cecilia grew up and attended school in Downey, California, graduating with the Class of 1965. Cecilia began working for a local paint company and was united in marriage to Terry Ellington, and to that union, there were two children, Richard Eugene and Veronica Lee. Cecilia later moved with her family to Oklahoma to reside in Tulsa. She soon accepted a position with Tulsa County as a phone operator and service desk attendant. On July 28, 1982, Cecilia was united in marriage to Patrick James Thimm in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1983, Cecilia and Pat moved to Cleveland, where they reside. Cecilia later began working as a patient advocate for Health Care Research Consultants until she retired in 2009.
Cecilia enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was also a league bowler at the Rose Bowl for many years. Cecilia always loved going with Pat to the lake and spending the day fishing. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors are her husband Pat of the home, two children Richard Ellington and his wife Tammy of Midlothian, Texas; Veronica Welcher and her husband Larry of Alvarado, Texas; siblings; Maureen Kowalcky of Freemont, California; Leon Arlt of Villa Park, California, Virginia Pearson of San Jose, California, Thomas Arlt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Douglas Arlt of Vista, California, Dolores Sullivan of Gallup, New Mexico; four grandchildren Gavin Ellington, Abigail Ellington, Lillith Ellington, Maddie Ellington and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Cecilia was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Arlt, Paul Arlt, and Sister Barbara Arlt.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family has requested memorial donations be made in honor of Cecilia to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
