Bert Terry

???? ~ August 31, 1927

Bert Terry, who lived on what is known as the Charles Luca place, four miles east and two and one half miles south of Durham, died at a hospital in Elk City Wednesday evening from injuries received in an automobile accident Sunday, two miles east of Durham.

Mr. Terry was alone in the car when the accident occurred. He drove off the bridge in some manner and was caught underneath the car, where he remained for possibly two hours. He was found by a young man who was working about a quarter of a mile from the place of the accident. The young man heard the moans of some one and went to the bridge where he found Mr. Terry pinned underneath the car. He was about to leave to get assistance when Mr. F. H. Ogle and others came and he was taken from underneath the car and hauled to his home in a truck.

When Mr. Terry was found he was unconsious and could not tell how the accident occurred.

Tuesday he was moved to an Elk City hospital where he died Wednesday, August 31 from the results of his injuries.
