Don Teel

Don Teel
December 18, 1962 ~ June 29, 2024

Don Teel, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, in Mead, Oklahoma, at the age of 61. He was born on December 18, 1962, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Ford and Geneva Jane (Green) Teel. Don married Patty Dickinson on February 24, 2024, at the Willow Springs Marina in Mead, Oklahoma.

Professionally, Don was a respected marine mechanic, dedicating 20 years of service to Sundowners and another decade to Tadpole's before his well-deserved retirement. His commitment to the community was evident through his 22 years of membership with the Elks Lodge and his active involvement with the Three Valley Riders. Don was also known as a "good band dad," always ready to support and cheer on the kids. He had many passions beyond his work, such as boating, fishing, hunting, and riding his side by side. His love for motorcycles, car shows, and poker runs was only matched by his dedication to supporting area Special Olympians, a cause close to his heart. Those who knew Don will remember him for his unwavering kindness and the generosity he extended to everyone, especially special needs children.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Patty Dickinson of Mead, Oklahoma, his daughter Brianna Reed and her husband David of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, his stepdaughter Riley Reinert of Durant, Oklahoma, and his stepsons Trevor Peoples of Durant, Oklahoma, and Spencer Peoples and his wife Dr. Haylee Peoples of Temple, Texas. His legacy lives on with his granddaughter, Lyra Peoples, and his future granddaughters, Maggie Reed and Olivia Shriver.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Ford and Vida Teel, and Albert and Stella Green, as well as his parents, Ford and Geneva Teel.

Friends and family will gather for a memorial visitation on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 North 5th Street, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
