Philip Wayne Taylor, 80, passed away on October 3, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born May 9, 1943, to Francis N. Taylor and Ramoth Berry Taylor in Oklahoma City, OK. He married Marcia Jean Ikerd on September 1, 1973, in Bethany, OK. Philip retired from the State of Oklahoma's Department of Human Services, Data Services Division after 37 years of service.
Philip was indefatigable, persevering against injury to fully enjoy life. He loved traveling, road trips, cruises, getting lost and finding his way again. Philip long enjoyed thriller and mystery novels and TV shows. He was a member of OKC 1st Presbyterian Church. Philip relished laughing and talking with friends and family. He was a proud father and grandfather, generous with his love and praise.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; son, Sean; grandchildren, Nathan and Sacha; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Philip's memory to Ability Connection Oklahoma.
A celebration of Philip's life will be held in the coming months.
