Mary Elizabeth (Buchanan) Taylor
May 10, 1951 ~ May 21, 2022

Mary Taylor, 71 year old Oklahoma City resident, gained her wings on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at her home. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church in Oklahoma City with Reverend E. Jennings Tyson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Mary Elizabeth (Buchanan) Taylor was born on May 10th, 1951 to Calvin and Mary (Mitchell) Buchanan in Andrews, Texas. Her and her nine siblings grew up in Eakly, Oklahoma and she graduated from Eakly High School in 1972. After high school, she worked various jobs until she achieved her Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 1991 from Caddo-Kiowa Vo-Tech in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She was blessed with four children, Calvin, Jerri, Titus Jr. (TJ), and Matthew. Mary worked hard to provide for her children and had a strong work ethic that she instilled into each one of them. After she retired from nursing, she enjoyed working as a security guard. She loved visiting, spending time, and taking care of her family members. She enjoyed cooking, playing games, going to the casino, and traveling.

Mary is survived by her children, Calvin Taylor and wife Kristen of Mooreland, OK; Jerri Taylor of Midwest City, OK; Matthew Perry and wife Mandy of Norman, OK; twelve grandchildren Brianna, Kobe, McKenzee, TJ, Matt Jr., Michael Ryan, Nicholas, Christopher and wife Divine, Elizabeth, Lauryn, and Landen; two great grandchildren; brothers Tommy Buchanan of Oklahoma City, OK; Edward Buchanan and wife Cherry of Fort Cobb, OK; Nathaniel Buchanan and wife Barbara of Benbrook, TX; sisters Betty Ingram of Midwest City, OK; Willie Mae Elizondo of Norfolk, NE; Urana and husband Eugene Jefferson of Clinton, OK; her beloved Yorkies, Bruno and Sissy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Mary Buchanan, son TJ, two brothers, Meddie (Duke) Buchanan and Anthony Ray Buchanan; sister Gloria Jean Buchanan; and her fiance Tranell Seals.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
