Barbara Ann (Thole) Taylor
May 8, 1940 ~ Jan. 12, 2018

Barbara Ann Taylor, 77, Bartlesville resident, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

Barbara was born May 8, 1940, in Perry, OK, to Elmer J. and Lillie (Langley) Thole. At a young age, her family moved to Wichita, KS, where she was raised and educated. After graduating from West High School in 1957, Barbara went to work for Southwestern Bell for many years. She took a break and went back to SW Bell. Barbara went into the restaurant business. Her first restaurant was BJ's in Tulsa, then she went on to own another restaurant Country Corner in Prattville, part of Sand Springs, OK, then Good Times, and The Hot Spot, also in the same community.

Barbara attended college in Eureka, KS, graduating with an Associate degree in English and continued on to get another Associate's in Medical Records and Administration. She moved to Bartlesville to work at Heritage Villa until she retired in 2007.

All through life, Barbara loved to write, especially poetry, and was an avid reader of non-fiction. She stayed constantly busy, whether it was feeding people, helping people, or putting her thoughts to paper. Whatever Barbara was doing, she was passionate about it. But most of all, she loved her kids and grandkids.

Barbara is survived by her children Becki Jo Hoggatt of Ada, OK, and Daniel C. Tibbitts of Naples, FL; two sisters, Vicki Dixon of Naples, and Janice Smith and Lawrence of Dewey, OK; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, along with other family and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Thomas Alan Hoggatt, son William Leon Shumway II, two daughters Dayna Rae Roberts and Jamie Lee Hammonds, and one brother Jerry Thole.

Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, Jan. 18, 10-8 p.m. at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jane Phillips Cancer Center, 3470 E. Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.

Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Barbara's family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com
