Beverly Jeanne (Bowers) Sweet, 81 year old resident of Mansfield, TX, passed from this life June 9, 2016 in Arlington, TX. Beverly was born May 19, 1935 to Floyd "Hank" and Leona (Sloan) Bowers in Oklahoma City, OK. Beverly went to Woodward Public School and graduated with the class of 1953.
On July 26, 1957 Beverly married Elvin Sweet at the Methodist Church in Woodward, OK. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Sherry, Susan, and Lori. They lived in Woodward from 1957 to 1970, lived in Enid from 1970 - 1971, lived in Garber from 1971 - 1992, and moved back to Enid from 1992 - 2010. They then moved to Mansfield, TX in 2010 to be closer to their daughters. Beverly worked in the banking industry as a bookkeeper and teller and was an active part of her children’s lives acting as sponsor for their many activities.
Beverly was baptized and a member of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Athenian Ann's. Beverly loved spending time with family and especially her grandkids. She loved knitting and playing bingo. She and Elvin loved traveling and were fortunate enough to travel all fifty states.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Hank and Leona Bowers, daughter Susan & granddaughter Emily Bower.
She is survived by her husband, Elvin Sweet of the home; two daughters Sherry Stewart and husband Paul of Mansfield, TX, Lori Bower and husband Dan of Mansfield, TX; three grandsons Bradley Stewart and wife Sara of Plano, TX, Kevin Stewart of Arlington, TX, and Brian Bower of Mansfield, TX; great-grandson Elijah Stewart of Plano, TX; many nieces, nephews, other family, and host of friends.
