Tenna Swartwood was born July 18, 1957 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Florence Frankie and Murray Franklin Tidwell. She passed away November 3, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Tenna grew up southwest of Cheyenne and attended schools in Cheyenne graduating in 1975. After graduation she worked as a teachers aide for 4 years. During this time she was married to Jerry Wayne Swartwood at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on June 10, 1977. She later began her 28 year career as a secretary at Sunrise Feed. Tenna returned to Cheyenne schools where she began working in the cafeteria as a "Lunch Lady" until her passing. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, and reading, but her passion in life was being a selfless woman, caring for others and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Frank Tidwell.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; 2 sons, Tyler Wayne Swartwood, Oklahoma City, OK and Chesney Levi Swartwood and wife, Shay Lynn, Yukon, OK; her mother, Frankie Tidwell, Elk City, OK; 8 siblings, Mary Farber and husband, J.A. Farber, Cheyenne, OK, Joyce Myers and husband, Gene, Elk City, OK, David Tidwell and wife, Connie, Guymon, OK, Sue Burger and husband, Bryce, Cleveland, OK, Florence Decker and husband, Dale, Edmond, OK, Buck Tidwell and wife, Linda, Gruver, TX, Buster Tidwell and wife, Kathy, Cheyenne, OK and Nancy Peterson and husband, Fred, Blair, OK; sister-in-law, Jody Tidwell, Leedey, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
