Kathryn Ann (Guest) Swafford

Kathryn Ann (Guest) Swafford
October 8, 1954 ~ July 17, 2022

Kathryn Ann (Guest) Swafford was born on October 8th 1954 to Mary Ellen (Chastain) Guest and Jesse Lee Guest in Fontana, Ca.

Kathy was a wonderful wife and mother who always put her family's needs above hers. She attended Hawthorne Christian School in California as a youth. She truly loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She served alongside Larry as he pastored for thirty-seven years at Central Baptist Church in Stilwell. She was also serving in the church in one capacity or another. She really enjoyed singing at the church. She also sang at hospital bedsides, nursing homes and countless funerals. The children and grandchildren could always count on the fact that she was going to call and sing happy birthday to them even if she had to leave it on voicemail. She worked as a CNA at the Stilwell nursing home. She truly loved her patients and they loved her. If she was off duty, the residents would ask where she was. Many of them would request her because of her love and patience.

Kathy enjoyed being around people and being outdoors. You would find her sitting in her chair watching the birds (the hummingbirds were her babies) and enjoying her flowers. As they would drive down the road she was always looking for deer, turkey, hawks and eagles, basically any wildlife. She enjoyed fishing especially if she was the one catching the most fish or the biggest one.

Kathryn Ann was married to Larry Earl Swafford who was the love of her life at an early age in 1969 in Jay OK. This July 5th they celebrated 53 years of marriage. They were blessed with a great family. Larry Lee Swafford and wife Deborah of Haskell, OK.; Brian Swafford and wife Lisa of Stilwell, OK.; Keith Swafford of Cookson, OK.; Kevin Swafford and wife Tammy of Tahlequah, OK.; Aaron Swafford and wife Jennifer of Stilwell, OK.; Tammy January and husband Ryan of Jay, OK. Grandchildren include Luke and wife Synthia, Tanner, Dustin, Andrew, Lacie, Caleb, Ashley, Hunter, Colton, Allie, Ava, Heath, Anna and great granddaughter,Sophia.

She also leaves behind her father Jesse Guest and wife Cheryl of Mira Loma California and her brother Bradley Johnson and his wife Beatrice of Watts, OK. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ellen and her brother Michael Guest. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her love and big smile she always had.

Funeral Service was held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Central Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK with interment at the Academy Cemetery in Evansville, AR under the direction of Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell, OK.
