Joan Ruth (Hinze) Sutton

June 29, 1930 ~ October 6, 2024

Joan Ruth (Hinze) Sutton, 94, quietly went to meet her Heavenly Father on October 24, 2024 at the Kiowa Manor in Kiowa, Kansas surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on June 29, 19306 to Rueben and Ruth Hinze.

She grew up with her siblings, Helen and David, and graduated high school in Sheboygan Wisconsin. During her youth, she worked several various jobs to assist her family. After high school, she attended Lawrence University and during her summer breaks she traveled to Hardtner, Kansas to assist her uncle and aunt. While in Hardtner she met her future husband, George.

George and Joan were united in marriage on August 11, 1951 in Sheboygan. She made her career working alongside her husband on their farm and ranch in Hardtner, Kansas. During this time, she raised their five children. She appreciated a good work ethic and valued a good education. Joan passed those values to her children and supported them in all aspects. She loved to cook and was widely known for her baking and gardening skills. She annually produced a bountiful harvest that was the envy of all her neighbors. She was an accomplished seamstress and had a passion for classical music.

Joan had a quiet faith in our Lord and Savior and enjoyed playing the piano for their church services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Tom, and granddaughter-in-law, Natalie.
